Apnea

APNEA is a charcoal drawing depicting a human face submerged in water, captured in a suspended moment between presence and absence. The subject appears with eyes closed, the face wet, and hair dispersing into the water, while on the surface a reflected and deformed image overlays.

APNEA evokes the suspension of breath. Water creates a protected, suspended space, distant from noise, where everything slows down, even thoughts. The slow interplay of shadows, light and reflections gives me the sense of an intimate moment, almost timeless.
