GOD WILLS

Gothic letters executed with various tools and black sumi ink. The first D is drawn with a hand-carved reed pen, while the rest of the inscription is done with a Brause nib with a 5 mm stub tip. The second D is drawn in a 'Roman Capitals' style with a Leonardt nib and red gouache.

The work arises from a quotation from the 1966 film "The Brancaleone Army". The line is spoken by the monk Zenone. I wanted to recall it to evoke the film's satirical humor that is very dear to me. (The line features a Latin grammatical error: "vultE" instead of "vult" to evoke the grotesque and comic character of the monk and the 'pseudo-Latin' used in the film.)
