Enchantment

Original oil painting on canvas. The subject, a close-up iris, emerges from the background thanks to a carefully studied chromatic contrast and vivid colors. The title 'Enchantment' is tied to wonder and pure beauty.

I love flowers very much and their ability to evoke wonder with their very existence. I chose to paint irises (the other work is titled 'Hope') because to me they represent the very essence of beauty. The vibrant colors and their nuances render them a true chromatic miracle, and the name Iris itself means 'rainbow'.
