Revelation

Revelation embodies the moment when the human being comes into contact with the divine. The angel becomes the symbol of a truth that reveals itself, while the human represents the one who welcomes it, understands it, and gives it form.

The idea stems from the desire to bring back into the present a work by one of the greatest masters in art history, Caravaggio, reinterpret­ing his Saint Matthew and the angel through my sensibility and a technique that belongs to me. I was particularly struck by the encounter between the human and the divine: the moment when Matthew receives something that goes beyond himself. I wanted to transform that moment into a “Revelation,” not only religious but also interior: that instant in which a light, a thought, or a truth can change the way we see things. It is my way of paying homage to Caravaggio, keeping his message alive through a personal and contemporary vision.
