Unlived Childhood

The monumental architectural structure represents the perfect world I have sought to build in my mind since early childhood: orderly, imposing, and almost impossibly beautiful. It reflects the urge to grow up too soon, choosing seriousness and control over play and tenderness. At the center of this vast imagined world sits a mountain of forgotten teddy bears: the games, the sweetness, and the carefree spirit of a childhood that was never fully lived. Unlived Childhood explores the distance between the girl we were, the adult we have become, and everything that remains waiting for us in between.

Unlived Childhood began as a personal reflection on childhood, self-protection, and the parts of us that remain unlived.
