Portraits
My work stems from a reflection on the theme of women as an enigma, inspired by a phrase from Massimo Recalcati: «What does it mean to be a woman?».
Through a series of female portraits, I sought to represent the elusive essence of the feminine using the simplest elements — water and carbon — the same ones that make up the human body.
The faces come from social media, a place of continuous observation and comparison, where the female gaze seeks other gazes to understand itself.
It is a search for identity, projection, and the construction of the self-image through the other.
