The Sweetest Comes Last

An everyday subject becomes the protagonist of a large-format watercolor, where the brilliance of the cherry dominates the composition. The contrast between the fruit’s intense red and the blue background enhances the presence of the dessert, transforming it into a small visual celebration of pleasure.

The idea comes from the meaning of Dulcis in fundo: saving the pleasure for last. The artist turns a small dessert into a monumental subject, focusing on reflections, transparency, and textures to capture, through watercolor, that final moment of gratification that completes an experience.
