I love drawing freely with the Pentel Fude brush pen, the Japanese brush. Drawing in this way leaves no margin for error; every stroke is sharp and indelible. The mark is gestural, impulsive. The subsequent watercolor breathes life into each figure, in a random, unrepeatable way.
