The Speed Of Life

This neon-colored, nocturnal scene frames two figures waiting at a red light amid the frenetic urban traffic, full of light trails and fleeting glimpses. From a metaphorical standpoint, this work seeks to represent the speed of life and the way it flows—rapid, intense, and dazzling. The two figures almost relive and admire the moments of their lives, becoming aware of their fleeting nature. The visual impact is meant to convey the sense of wonder one feels when realizing the passage of time, inviting us to live every moment to the fullest.

I created this work primarily because I wanted to depict a nocturnal urban panorama, with vivid and blended colors, precisely because, personally, this atmosphere evokes intense visual sensations for me that can also be read metaphorically; thus I drew inspiration from such an image and turned it into a painting.
