White, Black, GrayCreated with ArtGraf on watercolor paper, the work explores the relationship between what we see and what we perceive. The butterfly covering the young woman’s eyes interrupts her outward gaze and symbolically becomes a new form of vision: more intimate, instinctive, and personal. Her expression remains enigmatic, inviting the viewer to imagine what lies behind her silent presence.
The idea comes from the desire to represent a different way of seeing. By covering the eyes, the butterfly conceals the external world and makes room for inner vision. At the same time, it prevents the viewer from reading the woman’s gaze and immediately understanding her emotions: what she feels is not revealed, but left to the viewer’s intuition and sensitivity.
