The Study of a Face

"The Study of a Face" was born from observation and my free interpretation of a subject unknown to me. I deliberately chose, thanks to the guidance of the attentive masters of the Academy, to work with thick, paste-like colors and textural brushstrokes, letting the painting retain physicality and spontaneity. The wrinkles of the mature face have been for me an interesting exercise: tracing the signs of time, the variations of skin and light, trying to render character without chasing perfection. More than a portrait, my personal interpretation of a face: a study of form, light, matter and expression.

The idea was born from the willingness to challenge myself with a face marked by time, allowing myself to be guided not so much by the search for perfection as by the curiosity to explore expression, light and matter.
