Hope

Original painting executed in oil on canvas. The subject, a close-up iris, emerges from the background thanks to a carefully studied chromatic contrast and vivid colors. The title 'Hope' is tied to the primary meaning in the language of flowers.

I love flowers deeply and their capacity to bring wonder with their very existence. I chose to paint the irises (the other work is titled 'Enchantment') because, to me, they represent the very essence of beauty. The vivid colors and their nuances render it a true chromatic miracle, and not surprisingly, its name means 'rainbow'.
