Vertigo

The ascent of the mountain is the labor of clinging to a self-image constructed by others, a path made of expectations, objectives, and models to attain. The summit represents arrival: success, recognition, the form that is accepted. And yet, at the moment of arrival, the vertigo of the question of identity is born. The sky wraps itself in a swirl of clouds: confusion, anxiety, disorientation. It is the noise of a self that can no longer distinguish what it is from what it shows. Identity, shaped by external gazes, loses contact with its own origin. At the center of the vortex, however, a possible quietude can be glimpsed. The eye of the cyclone becomes a summons to re-center, to return to the essential. Vertigo is not only a fall, but a threshold for an authentic search for the self.
